The Bluff Lighthouse

The Studio is sited above the Lighthouse Gallery in Central Bluff. You are two minutes from the Ferry Terminal and shops, restaurants and pubs, and of course the best ‘fish n chip’ shop in NZ, is almost next door.

The Studio is a large spacious open plan room with a small bedroom and kitchen area which are semi private, and a private bathroom. The large area is filled with sofa’s, large comfy chairs, books and a view of the main street. There is a microwave oven and a small two plate stove top which is suitable for small meals, and dishes, pots and pans etc along with tea and coffee are provided Two pull out sofa’s provide extra sleeping if necessary and a yunka fireplace adds to the already great atmosphere It is the perfect place to hide out and do very little.

Mac and Sue who live next door, are your hosts and both have traveled widely so have learned what constitutes comfort when away from home, Mac has a vast local knowledge and both are ready to help to make sure that your needs are met when ever possible, The ferry leaves daily for Stewart Island and times are available at the ferry terminal or online. These may change according to the weather and the time of year.

Bluff has many things to do including fishing charters, loads of walking and biking trails, bird watching and you can fish of the wharf, some times catching a fine salmon.

Pop into the Lighthouse Gallery to see local art and to find the best coffee or hot chocolate in town.

There are several restaurants and a couple of friendly pubs where you can meet the locals.
