The Bluff Lighthouse

The Bungalow is situated above the bay area in Bluff five minutes walking from shops and restaurants. From the house you can look out over the bay and the harbour and I guess if ones eyes were good enough you might even see the Antarctic. You can certainly see wonderful sunrises and sunsets from this position and of course all shipping goes past you as you sit and watch the fishing boats go out in the morning and return in the evening.

The bungalow was built in 1937 and still has many of the original features, although we are currently replacing the windows with aluminium double glazing , and have installed instant heating in the form of an enclosed gas heater in the lounge. The Bungalow is a large, warm, sunny, three bedroom home with a sunroom which has a double fold out sofa bed for extra guests. Two of the rooms are queen size and one a single. All beds have electric blankets. There is a wetback fireplace which warms the whole house very quickly if the weather is extra cold, plus it also heats the water alongside the electric system. If it is cold and windy there is nothing better than curling up before a glowing fire.

The porch which overlooks the bay and the harbour is enclosed with an awning fronting which can be opened up on a sunny day but creates a wonderful warm place to have lunch or breakfast or to just sit and watch the endless change of the scene before you.

There is a laundry with a dryer, free to air tv, a fully equiped kitchen with a dishwasher and a stereo. If you have your own laptop computer we are able to provide internet facilities.
